LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The latest numbers show an increase in flu cases in Lexington.

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department says the city now has 405 confirmed cases, an increase of 59 from last week. Officials say there have already been three-flu related deaths, including a baby.

Health officials say a seasonal flu shot is the best way to fight the flu each winter, and the shot is especially important for senior adults, young children and anyone with other medical risks.

Flu shots are available in the Public Health Clinic located at 650 Newtown Pike without an appointment. Its hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The cost varies based on insurance; call (859) 288-2483 for details
